Thanks Dad

It's really hard to put in exact words how much my Dad has shaped me into the adult and parent I am today. 

I got my grit and resilience from my Dad. He raised three daughters while working full time and running a small farm. And being girls didn't spare us from farm work like bailing hay, mucking out stalls or working the fields on the tractor. 

My Dad taught me to expect more out of myself. Even though neither of my parents went to university he encouraged me to pursue post-secondary education, even when it would take me to studying as far away as Germany.

​But most importantly my Dad taught me what to look for in a husband and father to my own kids. Someone who is thoughtful, loving and hard-working. Someone who is willing to sacrifice for his family.
